Lied about dui and counseling on blue cross blue shield health insurance application?
Question by WizardJoker7: Lied about dui and counseling on blue cross blue shield health insurance application?
I got a dui about a year ago and of course the whole process of a dui is drug/alcohol counseling. I applied for blue cross blue shield health insurance online and they asked me if i drink and if so how many… I said yes and only maybe zero to two beers a week. Then they asked if I ever had dui or counseling for alcohol.. I said no… Now they just called me and asked me a bunch of questions including about if I ever had a dui or had counseling… I have but I said no to them… My question is will they check up on that and if so can they access that information… And also if they find out i was lying will they deny my insurance… THANK YOU!!

If they find out, you will probably see your policy canceled. You have lied about your health history.
The insurance companies may be terrible about paying claims, but they are ruthless in canceling policies for any reason whatsoever.
Your full protection about pre-existing conditions does not kick in this year, although you may qualify for a high risk pool, which may be unaffordable for you.

I am looking for health insurance that covers mental health and drug treatment. Any specific suggestions?
Question by need-drug-treatment: I am looking for health insurance that covers mental health and drug treatment. Any specific suggestions?
Can anyone recommend an insurance plan that they’ve used to obtain quality drug treatment? I am really trying to get in to one of the Narconon facilities but any drug treatment that covers the full spectrum (not just the drug use, but the emotional or other reasons that cause addicts) would work. Anything we can make financial arrangements for. Everything we can find is free and hasn’t worked or $ 30,000+ and we can’t afford even with loans etc. So any resources regarding insurance would be very helpful. Thanks

Social Work or Mental Health Counseling?
Question by dundermifflin3: Social Work or Mental Health Counseling?
I am planning to go back to school to get my masters degree. I want to be able to practice therapy in a private setting, as well as the possibility for a public one. I am also considering working in something like a university’s counseling center. The Social Work field seems more focused on public systems and public welfare, but has more reputable programs. The Mental Health Counseling programs are newer, and I have heard that insurance companies do not want to reimburse them.
Any thoughts on the fields/degrees?
Any particularly good MHC programs?
